Bidrage med feedbackThere were not too many options available on the main streets as Dome has suffered storm damage so we had afternoon tea at Hoover's. The service was very good but the lemon slice... don't waste your money.
Visited for lunch with my wife and found it a cosy place to eat with tables sufficiently spaced to give a good level of privacy. Food was very good and whilst the level of customer service was very good, there were a couple of aspects that left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. First of all, the young lady taking our order had some difficulty with the English language, which in itself I do not have a problem with. She was quite lovely and friendly, apologising as she was new, and I think did a pretty good job of taking our order, but unfortunately she got one of our orders wrong. When the wrong meal was served, the error was realised, the waitress apologised and replaced the meal with the correct one. That again I don't have a real issue with, mistakes happen and I was satisfied with the way to was resolved. But, then the waitress came back and advised that the meal I had cost more than what was initially delivered and would I please pay the difference of about $4 when leaving. This I could not believe. They made the mistake and any decent restaurant would never have asked for the difference to be paid. When dining with my wife, I do not think it unreasonable to have our meal together, and to have meals served 10-15 minutes apart is a real hate of mine. In this instance a mistake was made and apology accepted, and we could tolerate my wife eating after I had finished my meal, but then to be asked to pay a few dollars difference to me was simply disgusting. Very poor service on the part of their management. Food very good, venue very good, service generally very good, but management respect for customers not acceptable. I did pay the difference, but will not be returning. There are far too many alternatives in Kalgoorlie at better prices and better service.
Lovely, historic, large cafe, part of the Palace Hotel, with plenty of seating. We found the coffees average tasting and they had no gluten free treat options. Open on Sunday. Free wifi.
Busy but nice atmosphere. Ordered a salmon and salad sandwich which as very fresh and had a lovely coffee.
A reasonable meal, but not particularly memorable. Service, food and atmosphere all satisfactory, but pricey for what it was.
