Saltanat Fish Kebab House - Istanbul

I got the Sultan's Favorite (Hunkar Begendi), which are beef cubes in a tomato sauce, with roasted eggplant puree and kashar cheese, which i highly recommend. The beef was fork tender, and all the platters are generous portions. We left very full. Service was friendly and hospitable, and very accommodating to us tourists who didn't speak the language. The Turkish glass mosaic lamps and chandeliers iconic of the Grand Bazaar lights up this cozy yet elegant venue. If you're in Istanbul and not sure where to eat, this is a solid, reliable pick. Reasonable pricing, fresh, high-quality ingredients, and everything's just so delicious. Great menu of Turkish wines and beers, too.

One of my Top 2 choices in Istanbul. This place is just right. Good mix between traditional and elegant presentstion of food. We avoided the other restaurants that keep pulling you in by the train station because they are too pushy. My wife and I ordered lamp chops and chicken shish kebab here. We kinda wish we got the mix grill for 2 after seeing others ordering that. Good portion and complementary hummus. Naan is fresh and warm out the oven. If you know middle eastern food, this is very important.

We found this restaurant in tripadvisor recommencadtion and it was remarkable. we had iskendar kebab and urfa kebab, eating was super delious. the waiters were friendly and helpful. not least we really love the baklava treatment!

Super nice The waiter offered us some tea and dessert for free. He came back to us to give back our tip. So nice place and nice stuff.
