Bulkeley Bistro - Isle of Anglesey

Had here last year a fantastic meal, so decided to book for this year again. through the new guidelines it was ensured that we contacted us for booking. left very disappointed if advised "we are only safe places for our residents at the moment and. for all other guests it is on a first come first serve basic so in the round we set up on Friday night and if they are fully booked, we have to try somewhere else and where most places they have to book leave us with the possibility if not where we eat. no ideal situation. we would like to have put a deposit on the table if they thought we wouldn't show up.

Arrived at the restaurant but not much atmosphere and waitress was quite abrupt and not very accommodating. Food was really good but service unfortunately wasn't. Could've done with some music in background as was quite quiet until other tables booked up.

Wow a big difference since my previous review! Lorraine in the bistro was very chatty and friendly and looked after us in the bar until we could be seated (the hotel was very busy due to a coach party). My fish and chips were...delicious, as were the nachos to start. But the Bulkeley Hotel is more than just great food... the atmosphere is the best thing about it. A visit to the hotel is like going back in time in the nicest possible way. Ornate rooms, chandeliers and a pianist in the background makes this one of the loveliest places to spend an evening on Anglesey.

This occupies a small space on the groundfloor of the Bulkeley Hotel. A small bar sits at one end. Good, unadventurous food and a good range of drinks are the order of the day.

We ate here whilst staying over in the Bulkeley Hotel. The staff were very attentive and excellent, the food was superb, have to mention my starter .....i had baked camembert which with the accompaniments was fantastic best starter in a long long time. Overall a...lovely meal in a very nice little Bistro.
