Service and the food were wonderful! A little pricey but sometimes you just have to indulge. Their gift shop is filled with all kinds of cool antiques.

I ordered a seafood special, which was delightful—probably the best scallops I've ever had. My daughter chose a massive salad that was quite impressive, and the crab cakes were also enjoyable. One pleasant surprise was the size of the Old Fashioned that my mother-in-law ordered; it was easily double the size of those we've had at other similarly priced restaurants recently. Others at our table had chicken and other dishes, but what stood out to me was the personal touch the restaurant provides. Our server—who I could swear was the same one who served us years ago—seemed genuinely invested in the establishment, which added a level of warmth and intimacy that is often missing in casual upscale dining. Many places have a sterile, forced politeness, don't you think? As a nice touch, they placed a candle in a crème brûlée to celebrate my daughter's birthday, which I thought was a lovely gesture. The quality of the food was a pleasant surprise for a place in Independence, and we certainly appreciated it. We will definitely be returning!
