Rio Grande - Independence

I am giving this restaurant a three-star review. While I had a great experience, I feel their prices are a bit high for what you get. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the restaurant is clean, and the dishes are served quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to return if someone else chose this place, but if I'm making the decision, I would opt for a similar restaurant to save a bit of money.

Awful experience! Save your money and try the new Chipotle instead. Rio Grande is ridiculously overpriced. The service was terrible; they mixed up our order and barely checked on us. Our server spent most of her time sitting at a table in the back, on her phone, and even charged us for food she never brought. Pay attention to your surroundings while you're there—there are holes in the ceilings and walls. The bathroom is disgusting. Be sure to review your receipt because the prices are outrageous! Honestly, do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else!

The service was awful. It took an eternity for the waitress to come back to our table. I ordered rice on the side, but it never arrived. By the time the waitress finally checked on us, I was nearly finished with my meal and could only then ask about the rice. I was also charged for tomatoes on the side, even though the menu clearly states that the dish comes with lettuce and tomatoes. On top of that, there was a convenience fee, which I found frustrating since I paid in cash. Convenience fees are meant to cover credit card costs. I used to love this place, but I’m now hesitant about returning. – Mike

This place is overpriced! The person who took my order over the phone quoted $17 for two quesadillas! I ended up canceling the order!

The food and service here are fantastic—definitely some of the best Mexican cuisine around! I often choose takeout, but dining in is just as enjoyable. The meals are consistently excellent and authentically prepared, and the portions are generous too!
