Red Fish - Hilton Head Island

Great restaurant. It's on the nicer side so I would plan to be slightly more dressed up than your normal beach casual restaurant. Overall the food tastes amazing and the service is very good.

Started with the calamari. Very large portion and very tasty. The wedge salad was good. Sea bass was tasty. Ended with the carrot cake thinking that I would not be able to eat it all but it was so good I could not stop. Service was very good. Nice selection of wine. I particularly enjoyed the live music. Cranford Hollow made the evening perfect- love his music.

Filet steaks did not appear to be filets. They were grainy and fibrous. They were not cooked to requested temp. Both were overdone one order was for Medium and was well done. The second order was for medium rare and was medium to well done. The side of broccoli was seasoned well and best part of the meal. The potatoes were room temperature and dry. We have been going to Red Fish for 20 years and have always enjoyed the evenings. The service was very good. We have recommended Red Fish to friends visiting Hilton Head. This has changed this recommendation.

Great dinner at Red Fish. We are from the Restaurant Week menu and I actually diverted from my usual sea bass. I had the salmon and my partner had the flounder. Both were excellent. The crab and corn chowder was amazing. The piano music was a fabulous addition and the service provided by Lacey was great (but it always is! .

Experience in a Saturday night: good food and service but the sound level was too high to enjoy the meal. Don't need to add music, although the entertainer was fine. But live music just made everyone shout to the point we couldn't ever hear the person across the table. Will only come during the week when it's not so crowded and noisy.
