Maui Tacos Hilo

Our experience was disappointing. The food was as dry as it was stale, as if it had been sitting in the freezer for weeks. I specifically requested no sour cream, yet everything came loaded with it.

If you're familiar with authentic Mexican cuisine, you'll quickly realize that this place doesn't serve it. The salsa contains garlic, which is not typical for genuine Mexican flavors. Most of the dishes seem to be microwaved, including the tortillas, which is far from traditional. A lot of the food tastes pre-cooked rather than fresh. I'm not convinced that the owners understand what true tacos are, as what they offer is nothing like the real thing. Additionally, the prices are steep; a small soda (only one size) costs $3.40, although refills are free.

This is a solid choice for mall food. They offer some excellent alcoholic beverages. The salsa bar features a delightful pineapple salsa, along with a variety of other options. However, the prices are a bit steep for the portion sizes.

This meal was $18+ and didn 't have what they advertise it coming with: ONIONS, CILANTRO TOPPED W/ GUACAMOLE SOUR CREAM TOMATOES . What a waste of money, don 't waste yours too.

These are the worst tacos I've ever had. It's like they have some type of spaghetti sauce in them. These poor excuse for tacos should have never left Maui. WORST TACOS EVER!!!
