Bidrage med feedbackI just had lunch at Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Hickory today. Although they didn't have the loaded King Kong baked potatoes I was looking forward to, I still enjoyed some delicious food, as always. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful too. If you're in Hickory and looking for a good meal, I highly recommend this place!
They catered a party for us on Saturday, and everyone raved about the food. Not a single bit of pulled pork or chicken breast was left. Guests even asked to take home the leftover sauces! Everything was packaged beautifully, and we had plenty of plates, utensil packs, serving spoons, and tongs. We will definitely be using their services again.
I've only visited this restaurant three times, but each experience has been fantastic! The service is top-notch, and the food is delicious! Keep up the great work!
As an Oklahoman, I take great pride in my roots. So, when I learned I was heading to North Carolina, I was excited to try the renowned Carolina barbecue. I ordered the sliced brisket, brisket burnt ends, cheddar kielbasa sausage, and brisket chili. However, when I sat down and noticed that the cup said "Texas Barbecue," I nearly had a meltdown. But I kept my expectations and standards high for the meats. If there's one thing that Oklahomans and Texans both understand, it's barbecue and football. My only minor critique is that the brisket was sliced with the grain instead of against it, but that's just nitpicking and doesn't reflect on the overall quality of the food. The brisket itself was cut quite thick, but it was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor. While the burnt ends weren’t traditional, they were absolutely delicious. And the cheddar kielbasa? It was phenomenal! The cole slaw and potato salad were rather generic, though. This was my first time trying brisket chili, and while it was tasty, I found it a bit too spicy for my liking. Overall, I give this place a solid 4.8 out of 5!
The burgers were poorly assembled, and the buns were dry and crumbled apart. The lettuce was wilted, and the tomatoes tasted mushy and almost rotten. I could have overlooked these issues, but the burger patties were utterly inedible. They were burnt to a hockey puck consistency, tasted terrible, and looked even worse (see pictures). The waffle fries were not any better—greasy, limp, and cold—even though the lady had claimed the delay was due to them waiting for fresh fries to come out. The brisket on the brisket and cheese fries was the only slight redeeming quality. I called the store to voice my complaints, and DJ, the manager, told me there was nothing he could do to rectify the situation—no replacement food or refund offered—and suggested I do exactly what I'm doing now: writing this review. I believe the actual management/owner would want to know about the poor quality of food their restaurant is serving and would strive to make it right. As it stands, I ended up losing $60 and having to settle for some ham and crackers from my fridge for dinner that night. I know this is a BBQ place, but if you can’t serve better burgers than that, just remove them from the menu.
