Bidrage med feedbackA group of us were taken to this restaurant by our Mexican colleagues. A beautifully renovated heritage building with dining rooms at both ground and first floor, set around a lovely patio. It specialises in traditional local 'Poblano' dishes, but often serves them with a slight modern twist and modern presentation. All of the food was excellent, as was their selection of tequilas and meszcals. Service was great - efficient, quick and courteous, yet friendly. But it is clearly a popular choice as it was very bus even on a Tue evening. So make sure you make a reservation!
We ate dinner there. There was a line but it moved along. Mexican restaurants don't rush out diners but we didn't have a long wait, nor were we rushed. I think this is a good place to try Puebla specialties and Mexican food in general. They seem to source their ingredients with care. My wife had chiles en nogada and it was perfectly done and the individual ingredients such as the diced peaches and the beef had good flavor. I think they toasted the walnuts for the nogada because it really tasted of walnuts. I had a mole poblano and it too was complex and very flavorful. It was not too sweet, it tasted of chile, it had not been scorched, and the chicken pieces weren't overcooked. I recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant specializes in the "new Mexican food", that's taking traditional dishes from México and Puebla, such as the "tacos árabes", and adding a touch of modern presentation and flavor. The food is very good. Breakfast packages are very complete and not expensive. Just a warning: you must reserve the day before!
My wife and I stayed in a hotel nearby and wanted to have breakfast in this gem of a place... What a culinary experience!!!
Took my companion to a place where he could eat something traditional, we went for Chiles en Nogada which are seasonal and these are by far the very best I have ever tried. The kitchen is fast, the service is amazing, our waiter was so kind and explained exactly the dishes. When I mention I didn't want to eat lard he said there was no problem preparing the traditional dish with oil. I was never in my life offered that kindly, it always happened to be a burden. He offered vegetarian options quite excited about them. The waiting can be long but its worth it. I recommend making reservations and avoiding weekends since it can get long to wait. The staff is very attentive, the place is lovely, the food is excellent...
