A few days ago in Hawaii. One of the things on the To-Do list was to find something fine. We found Hanalei Poke a few miles from our apartment at the northern end of Kauai. When we arrived in the early afternoon, there was still a healthy line that we took as a promising sign. I ordered the Hanalei Special Poke bowl on the recommendation of the other famous TV food (Triple D). The Special Poke scarf did not disappoint. The fish was very fresh and the bowl itself was very tasteful and well balanced. The only beef I have is the money. In addition to the posted price is an additional market price mark that makes for an expensive meal. I know that restaurants are all faced with costs that are not there control, but it was a bit difficult to justify the cost of the bowl on the portion size. (I'd take off 1/2 star if I could. If in the neighborhood, consider Hanalei Poke as it will be delicious, but will be prepared for sticker shock.
