Bidrage med feedbackAs a former employee from a few years ago, I've held off on writing this review for a long time, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I have serious concerns about the food safety practices at this establishment. Nobody here holds a food handler's card or ServSafe certification, and the basics of food safety are not taught. The owners, along with the management team, seem to prioritize profit over the well-being of their employees and customers. I would strongly advise against working here. If you're looking for a subpar Jimmy John's experience, go ahead and eat here, but be aware that there are far better sandwich shops around, including their sister location at 83rd and Thunderbird. I will also be posting this same review for that location because my concerns apply equally to both.
We eat at Jimmy John's once a week, but after our experience today, that’s about to change. We ordered our usual two sandwiches, always requesting the dressings on the side along with an extra dressing for each sandwich. When my husband received the bag, he noticed there was only one dressing included. He politely asked the staff member for an additional dressing, only to be told that one was sufficient for two sandwiches. The manager then had to step in to provide an extra dressing. I can’t help but wonder if the small amount saved by not giving us what we asked for was really worth it. Unfortunately, we’ve decided we won’t be returning.
I usually place delivery orders through the app, but I've had a lot of issues. The drivers often don’t follow the directions to my house and have left my food on the porch during the hot Arizona summer without even ringing the bell to let me know they’ve arrived. My orders are frequently incorrect, and I’m tired of giving them the benefit of the doubt because the staff seems incompetent. The manager has been rude and argumentative, showing a lack of concern for customer service. I contacted corporate about these ongoing issues and was promised that the owner would call me within 24 hours. That was on Tuesday, and today is Thursday, so it’s clear that the owner doesn’t care either.
Need better communication. I ordered through the website, and it was received at 5:08. Just before 6, I tried calling the number included in the confirmation email twice and it rang a bunch, then went to a fax sound...I looked up the number online and it was the same. The tracker had disappeared, and I didn 't see any other way to track the order or contact the store. I assumed since it 's supposed to be freaky fast the order got canceled, so when my roommate needed a ride to work, I told him I 'd take him. Sometime between then (around 6:08) and 6:56 (when my other roommate finally answered) is when it was delivered. If I was told in any form that my order was delayed and given a rough estimate of when it 'd be here, it wouldn 't have been a big deal (i was even nice when they forgot to include my kids sandwich in a past order). Instead, I didn 't know it was outside in the heat for who knows how long. The sandwich seemed ok when I got home but the soda is watered down and I only took 1 drink of it. I understand places get busy but you should let a customer know you are running way behind and give them the choice to wait or cancel.
This is the worst jimmy john I have ever been to. Having worked at one and loved the job I expected cheerful staff. The dude who took my order was rushing me from the beginning though I was the only customer. And, the chick on the line made the wrong sandwich. While I was still the only customer. Jimmy John's is great. Just go to a different one.
