Beautiful terrace areas with large ambiente and cocktails. the whole food was great, among them queso flamedo, chicken enchiladas, cheese enchiladas, chicken fajitas and chips and salsa that were worth getting.
I decided to come to Texas to visit two very dear friends of me and they suggested this restaurant that they are regular to have a good Mexican meal. to our insult we had a terrible experience to eat here and had to cut it short. before we sat to eat, we had asked the hostess before the time whether it was in order to sit on the terrace with 2 service dogs. She said it was okay and sat outside. a few minutes later a server came up to clarify and ask that the dogs were actually servants, otherwise we had to go and we confirmed that they were. then we were finally addressed by the general manager, who came to our table in our worst behavior from everyone, and immediately spoke to us in a very rude way and said we have to go immediately for our dogs after we had ordered 3 drinks and got our appetizers. we were very taken back at her demeanor when she came to us because there was no excuse for the wrong communication, or spend $58 on eating and drinks just to be thrown out, and waste our time there eating 30 minutes already and now need to drive somewhere else to have a proper meal. we had tried to communicate with her how disturbing this was to our plans after several members of her personal had put the dogs to the print, were okay to be there, but she would not allow us to speak and just talk about us by stating that it was not important what the employees say and it is up to her. we still had our full drinks and asked if we could at least finish the first and wait until our food is put in box, but she refused and said we had to get out with our dogs immediately. Remember, I never go out of my way to leave negative reviews, but this aggression was such a terrible experience that I wanted to be aware of the treatment of the administration here for future customers, because I personally do not want to support a company that has not been for their guests as we have experienced. P.S. when we left the restaurant, we came over this sign in front of the entrance door, which found that no pets were allowed, but service animals trained for disabled are ok? if service dogs not allowed, this sign should have been removed because it is very misleading.
We visited El Monumento in Georgetown TX. This is a Tex Mex scratch kitchen that is related to Monument Cafe, also located in Georgetown. Everything was made by scratch. Which just added to the flavor. The restaurant opens at 3pm, so you can start with a late lunch or early dinner. The seating includes both booths and freestanding tables, all with cushioned chairs. There is also outdoor seating available that overlooks the San Gabriel River Park that leads to the famous Blue Hole in downtown Georgetown. We started our meal with appetizers and wound up remaining with nachos for the meal that we shared because we were already so full. However. We just had to get their dessert special. All of the food was delicious. Service was great. While you can make reservations, you can also walk in. This is a great place for any meal at any time, bit also has a great ambience for a special dinner such as a celebration or a date night.
In my opinion, The food is very good, flavorful, and tasty but is a blend of Mexican with a touch of Texan flavors. We been here a couple of times, the employees are very polite, welcoming and knowledgeable. Definitely is one of our favorites places to have lunch or dinner.
