We had a coffee break at Hebe and mad a lovely discovery. Hebe not only had a great cuppa but also had great Art on the walls. Not only that. Seating was comfortable with lounge chairs as well as dining chairs and a big group confidence table. Books and magazines made it just perfect.
George Town has a lot of retired residents. This establishment has no access for anyone using a wheelchair or struggling with a walking frame. The front door is extremely narrow. Perhaps try elsewhere - we went to a pub instead.
Hot chocolate was bitter and tepid. Long black crema was lacking , extremely bitter. Man working there had head phones and tie dye t shirt on. Mismatched cups and saucers.Salt and pepper shakers dirty, menu food stained and oily. Not made to feel at all welcome. Red paint in three other George Town businesses. No eftpos . Toasted ham and cheese sandwiches squished . I do not like squished sandwiches. Was entertaining family member from interstate , was embarrassed by lack of service . Will not be back , will go to Maccas next time .
On our drive tour of Tassie, coffee is very important and coming from Melbourne I'm a little fussy!! We were on our way to Launceston and decided to go via George Town. Firstly gorgeous town and being Easter Monday not a lot open but this little gem was. Lovely service and the coffee was well received. So very very nice.
