Lazy Loon - Fonthill

The Lazy Loon is a restaurant that my mother loves, so we decided to throw a surprise party for her birthday there this year.

The food was mediocre and our soda was flat. I also found it to be a bit expensive and the service was not very prompt.

We have visited Lazy Loon a few times while in town. The food is simple, but delicious, with a taste of homemade family cooking.

This is my local restaurant for years I've gone there, then new management, new cook. Fish and chips 2 months ago, Fish was good, little greasy but not bad, the fries were honestly disgraceful, they had that "I have been under a light bulb for and hour and we are overcooked look. I talked to one of the managers, quietly and said that the potatoes in this case are half of the meal and you cannot give these things to people to eat. She agreed and said it would be sorted out.In the past 2 weeks I took 2 friends in there to eat lunch. The bacon in the turkey club sandwich has rented space under the light bulb and the fries have taken up permenant residency. Never again .

I had the "special" burger...combo of chuck and chorizo. From the meat to the fresh lettuce, tomato and onion to the yummy bun, it was the best I have had in a long time. To top it off there was a great house salad. The service was attentive but not intrusive. A great lunch was had by all once again. We keep coming back!
