Hartgan's Ice Cream Shoppe - Evanston

I was only given one option, which was chocolate. When I inquired about other vegan options, the staff informed me that there were none, so I was unsure if the sorbets were vegan. However, the chocolate was delicious!

I was disappointed when Adelheidis in Winnetka stopped serving vegan ice cream, so I went in search of other options on the North Shore of Chicago. While Homers in Wilmette only offers sorbets, I was happy to discover that Hartigan's in the area has delicious non-dairy chocolate ice cream. I recommend adding this spot to your list, and hopefully with more vegan customers, they will start offering even more flavors in the future.

Pleasant, efficient service. Many flavor choices. Comfortable indoor booths and picnic table outdoor seating. Easily accessible by bus. Family-friendly except needs ramp for strollers/wheelchairs. No public restroom.

We enjoyed our ice cream from this little shop. The ice cream tasted good (not artificial tasting). No indoor seating available. They have a lot outdoor seating. No parking lot but ample street parking is available.

A great woman owned ice cream shop with delicious treats and just the right amount of nostalgia.
