El Huarache Taco Shop - Escondido

This is one of my favorite places for Mexican food. The flavors are amazing, the prices are reasonable, and the service is outstanding!

El Huarache is probably one of my favorite taco spots in Escondido. They serve some of the best dishes around. While it may not be a typical five-star restaurant with a dress code, I still give it a five-star rating for its delicious food, quick service, and wide variety of options. My top pick is their California Burrito; just thinking about it makes my mouth water. If you're really hungry, I highly recommend the Torta Cubana or their Carne Asada Fries. It's a small place, so it can get busy, but the great thing is that they offer takeout as well. Give them a call!

If you're in Escondido and on the hunt for a delicious burrito place, this is the place to go! My family and I were in the mood for a hearty breakfast burrito, and El Huarache came up as the perfect choice. My husband opted for the fully loaded option with sausage, bacon, cheese, eggs, and potatoes, while my daughter and I shared a burrito filled with potato, egg, and cheese. There wasn't an excess of oil or salt, but the flavor of the burrito was still outstanding. One burrito is definitely ample enough to share! We will definitely be returning to El Huarache!

I hadn't dined here in over ten years, so I'm not sure if the ownership has changed. I remember my previous experiences being much better than my most recent visit. However, I can't say it was bad—it’s a pleasant little spot, and the staff are very friendly. I appreciate that the food isn’t overly salty like at many other restaurants. I'll definitely return. My friend had a similar impression: it was good, but nothing exceptional.
