Ihop - Elgin

The first issue was that my seat was broken. The manager was quite loud and seemed unkind toward the staff. I didn't want to hear about employee pay or her frustrations with someone; those conversations should have been kept private. She was more focused on placing empty coffee pots on tables than on ensuring my husband had any coffee. It appeared that one employee was being overwhelmed with tasks. As for the food, it was just decent. Overall, we have no intention of returning.

There was a minor issue with my order, completely unrelated to her efforts, but she ensured it was resolved quickly. This was some of the best service I’ve experienced in a long time. I truly hope Ashley is considered for a management position because she absolutely deserves it. Whenever I return, I will definitely request her as my server, even if it means waiting for her. Great job, Ashley!

I recently dined at IHOP, and despite the limited staff and a significant number of customers, the service was outstanding. The food was delicious, arriving promptly, fresh, and beautifully presented. Our server, Gaby, truly excelled with her attentive and friendly service, deserving a flawless 10 out of 10. Even with the busy environment, our experience at IHOP was excellent, and I highly recommend it.

When we walked in the restaurant there were few tables taken but slowly the started to get busy. There were roughly 2 to 3 servers. Our server though she was busy managed to provide us decent service and courteous towards us. We enjoyed our food and headed out with zero complaints.

First visit in several years. Fewer choices on breakfast. No option on menu for just two eggs, hash browns, and toast. But they have added plant-based sausage, which is a plus. Omelette now comes with hash browns OR pancakes, not both. 3 stars on food prepared. Hash browns were so salty I could barely eat them. I ordered sauteed onions and green peppers (which is one item on the menu), but it was raw pieces in my omelette. And I think we were charged for two added items, not one. It did have generous cheese. My husband ordered the spinach and mushroom omelette, which he really enjoyed. 5 stars on service. Samantha and Ashley (trainee) were very attentive, welcoming, and helpful without being overbearing. That said, I think $45 for an IHOP basic breakfast for two is ridiculous. I would go to Cinnamon or Sweet Berry for that price in the future.
