Bidrage med feedbackThe atmosphere and view are delightful. However, the food is just average and quite overpriced. My husband ordered a very tough cut of meat for $30, while I had seafood that was essentially boiled in tomato soup for $34. On the positive side, the dessert was enjoyable.
The restaurant itself is very wooded with beautiful views. A mixed crowd of people sitting alone at a four top table with just their computer and young couples out on their first expensive date. We started with the seared tuna. Not a good start. The tuna was over crusted with sesame seeds not necessary, as you can let the fish speak for itself. The slaw under it was inedible due to salt. I love salty food but this was drenched and soaked in soy sauce. The mango, radishes and cucumber seemed to be an afterthought, added to the edges of the plate. Moving on, we had the rib eye and the scallops. Rib eye was seared nicely but more rare than medium rare for my liking. The potatoes and broccoli proved to be a bit raw. The horseradish sauce served with the dish was nice. Not worth $40, flame up your own steak for $12, it will taste about the same. Scallops beautiful sear! Really lovely scallops. Unfortunately, they were atop a bed of raw (why???! spinach and very salty risotto. The tomato sauce around the dish was too sweet and over powered the beautiful, delicate scallops. All in all, this restaurant needs to allow the seafood they have speak for itself. Stop drowning it in sauce and salt! Come here for the view and drinks.
Wow. Roger Ebert, when asked what the best film was, refused to offer an answer. He simply stated the names of the 10 finest films he had ever seen and said those are the ones in the conversation for best film ever. If asked where I have had my finest dinner, similar to Ebert, I 'll offer a list of those in the conversation, as follows: Chi Spacca LOS Angeles Bateau SEATTLE Bourbon Steak DANA Point Guy Savoy Las Vegas Roubichon LAS Vegas AOC LOS Angeles ....and.... Madrona Loft Orcas Island Madrona Loft sources most of their veggies and meats from the island itself or local farms. I was treated to the finest veggies I 've ever had, both the salad and the cooked leeks. There must be something special in the local soil. Both were also accompanied with fantastic sauces. I died and went to heaven when I tasted the local grass fed beef, NY cut. It was exactly what a steak was meant to be meaty, complex, but simple in its delivery, with the perfect amount of fat to meat ratio. We don 't deserve the Loft at Madrona. The world isn 't good enough for it. It was meant for a different world, in a parallel universe, that is far better than ours. One where liberty is accessible to all, within societies that humbly maintain a value for affection towards all. The Loft makes zero complaints about this misfortune. They proudly stick around, serve fantastic food, and take pleasure in making it available to all. If you are a human being you have an obligation to fly to SeaTac, drive to Anacortes, take a ferry to Orcas Island, and then hire Eric or Ingle (two of the wonderful local cab drivers) and have them drive you here. It will likely be the finest dinner you have ever had.
Save yourself $200 just go dumpster diving then stick your finger down your throat. we were a party of 4...one got food poisoning was throwing up all night, another dish was laughably terrible, 2 others were meh.. whoever is pretending to be 'chef ' here has no experience whatsoever, is just putting out tiny portions of **** pricing it sky high for pretentious 'effect ' a complete joke
The welcoming atmosphere enhances your overall dining experience, ensuring you feel well cared for. In 2019, The Loft is highly recommended by Isla Vida for anyone visiting Orcas Island.
