James Ranch Grill - Durango

We stopped in after a long day of sight seeing and bought burgers and fries to go. The burgers were delicious. I wish we would have time to go inside and shop at the market.

James Ranch Grill is more than a Grill. It is an experience the staff are amazing, the food excellent and has alot to offer from wildflower tours to the market. I highly recommend a view to this Majestic 500 acre Ranch when in Durango.

Such a lovely place. You order food at a window then get buzzed to come pick it up later, after you’ve chosen one of multiple scattered picnic tables in the grass or on the deck. Then take a beautiful stroll down the hill (as pictured below- the restaurant in the photo is up the hill to the right) for a perfect evening! The burgers, beet salad, and fries were all incredible. They’re dog friendly staff were all helpful friendly. Will certainly be back soon!

I checked TA for a place to eat lunch as we were driving through Durango around noon. Several of the top restaurants were closed at noon or on Wednesday. James Ranch Grill was open and had great reviews. We plugged in the address listed on the website. Unfortunately, google didn’t take us to the right place. We went a little further down the road and found the restaurant. We stood in line, ordered 2 burgers, small order of chips and root beers. We got a beeper that notified us when our meal was ready. The burgers were good. I was a little disappointed in the small container or potato chips. We could have had fries for the same price and they looked very good. We had mustard on our burgers and it was a little skimpy. One of the staff that picked up plates brought us some more. The meat had a very good taste. We ate on the covered patio and it was quite pleasant. We also bought some cheese and sausage at their market on-site. They were delicious.

The James Ranch Grill and Market is a must for travelers in the Durango area! The staff were friendly and provided good service. Everything served is ranch to table. Undoubtedly, I enjoyed the most fresh and best burger ever. They offer inside, deck and picnic table seating. There is a small trail that offers beautiful views of the ranch and mountains. It was quite a delicious and picturesque experience.
