Bidrage med feedbackA special treat for my wife's birthday. Service was great, food exceptional, petite portions made eating multiple courses possible. My only complaint was being served a glass of dregs filled wine from the very helpful sommelier. I felt that he expected us to buy a bottle and when we didn't dumped the tail end of a bottle into my glass.
We went here for a birthday celebration and it was the best food I have had for the price in a while. The service was great and very timely. The white chocolate lava cake was to die for! Definitely a must try. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be coming back for more special occasions.
Oh my goodness, I love great food and this place is fantastic. Go to Berns if you must, but you will miss out. John was our waiter and he was amazing. I like a nice pinot noir and he got the sommelier to find me an amazing by the glass bottle. The menu, while not extensive, had a variety of delicitasant experiences for all. The lobster risotto is out of this world. The pork belly, so tender it slides off the cut of your fork. I will be back.....maybe tomorrow. All around amazing experience thank you for one of the best meals I've had in a long time.
One of the best in the Bay. Dan S took great care of us and recommended some delicious wines. The duckling entree was the highlight however the fosters banana desert is the dish I'd recommend as a must have.
Anyone who says perfection doesn’t exist has clearly never set foot in The Black Pearl. There simply aren’t enough superlatives in the English language to describe my family’s fine dining experience at this Dunedin diamond last night! The tasteful and cosy decor, uber comfortable booths and exquisite playlist set the stage for the extraordinary culinary experience that was to come. Every course was outstanding and if saddled with the unenviable task of singling out a handful of dishes it would be the escargot, the maple glazed pork belly, the Chilean sea bass Lyonnaise and the maple leaf farms duckling. Our server, Jay, was attentive and meticulous in helping us navigate the menu while sommelier Adam was engaging and spot-on with his wine recommendations. Chapeau to Chef Artrip and, of course, to owners Adam and Christina Feinstein whose combined DNA must be the special sauce responsible for The Black Pearl’s uniqueness! My family and I give The Black Pearl an unequivocal five-star rating while we look forward to discovering other restaurants within the Feinstein Group.
