Bidrage med feedbackThis review is for the newly opened place on Upper Baggot St which has only been open less than two weeks. Went there for dinner on 20 Oct and it was fantastic. The food and service were 1st class. The waygu beef melts in your mouth. The pork belly cooked perfectly. Chicken gyosa, scallops, and spider roll were all perfect.
Unagi don tasted of strong burnt taste ? , I think they blow torched the seaweed on top or something!? And the rice used was vinegared sushi rice instead of normal rice. Pickles served on the same dish instead of on the side. Sorry, this was totally off and not authentic at all. The chef should learn what an unagi don is, but this is similar elsewhere in Dublin. No apologies or anything when I raised the issue. Wouldn’t recommend. The place used to be much better years ago. The only positive is the service and the ambience and view over the Liffey.
J2 Sushi&Grill right opposite the Spencer Hotel is a nice cosy spot with amazing service and really tasty food. A nice spot during the cold rainy December. I ordered a rice bowl with California roll and the host was kind of enough to bring my partner and I green tea while we waited for the food. It was the best service for the cold weather and not to forget the hosts’ warm smile. Food was very delicious and portion size is great for price.
Burnt my tongue very badly on the miso she didn’t warn me it was boiling hot.
The best sushi restaurant in Dublin, with great atmosphere and nice views on the Liffey and the Samuel Beckett bridge.
