The Lazy Gator - Diamondhead

Great service, food and atmosphere. Will be back. Ordered grilled catfish. Wonderful.

We've enjoyed the Lazy Gator on beautiful sunny days and gray rainy days. The view of the Bay is phenomenal. The food keeps us coming back. Today I enjoyed coconut shrimp that were plump and cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed firecracker shrimp and a Cesar salad. His shrimp was also a nice size and the seasoning had the perfect amount of heat. The salad was fresh and croutons delicious airy crunchy bites. Service is always good. Definitely a go to place for lunch or dinner on the MS Gulf Coast.

Highly disappointed that the menu prices are not as listed. Attempted to address at the restaurant was told it was what it was. Commented on Facebook was given an excuse about how ownership has changed, prices have increased, then inevitably blamed for being upset…as a business owner you should adhere to your menu prices unless specified, as the customer has a right to know what they are paying for…blaming the customer or circumstances does not address the issue certainly does not excuse ripping someone off for an inadequate product. Hancock Bank should be embarrassed for supporting a business that just makes up “fair” prices without a customer’s knowledge or consent.

The specials posted at the entrance promise one thing, but the reality is different. Although the price indicated was $18, I was charged $24. The special was supposed to come with crispy red potatoes, but I received tater tots instead. There’s an item on the menu for gator bites, yet they haven't had gator even before the menu was printed. When I inquired about it, they suggested more shrimp instead. Most items are à la carte. The management and owner lack basic customer service skills.
