Bidrage med feedbackThe food is decent but not outstanding; they use white American cheese instead of cheese whiz. Rating: 3/5.
I felt intimidated when Gritty cornered me in the bathroom.
It's been a while since my last visit to this restaurant, but I have fond memories of working in the Denver Post building downtown. Every lunch break, my coworker and I would stroll down to this food cart to enjoy a Philly cheesesteak. I would always order mine with onions and mushrooms, along with just a sprinkle of salt. Without a doubt, it's the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had! No other place even comes close! If you find yourself in downtown Denver, this is an absolute must-try! If I still worked in the area, I would definitely be stopping by for lunch every weekday. It's that good!
We used to eat at the Downing and Alameda location in the 90s, then they were gone. We heard through the grapevine they had a food cart somewhere on the 16th Street Mall but we weren't sure where. I see them now and plan to make a pilgrimage there in the near future. Simply the best cheesesteak in Denver bar none! I don't want peppers on mine, just onion and mushrooms and they know how to do it. I'll be the guy in the 49ers t-shirt.
Stopped into Taste of Philly and damn... so good I might go back tomorrow! Lol. Had the popper steak sub and it was bomb. Will be back for sure. Thanks guys
