Bollywood Grill - Cumberland

During our Fourth of July weekend trip to Rhode Island, we had the pleasure of dining at this family-owned restaurant. If you’re visiting Rhode Island, this place is a must-visit. The food is incredible! If you’re seeking a flavorful experience, you’ll find it here. The spice is not about heat; it's about a delightful burst of flavors in every bite. The food is genuinely fantastic, and the customer service was excellent as well. We will definitely return!

The samosas are excellent, and the service is very friendly. The vegetable biryani was tasty as well. It's also a great option for food pickup.

My daughter, who is 12, ordered butter chicken for both of us to take to the drive-in theater. We had to wait an hour, while other customers left with large bags of food. The highest amount I overheard the rude lady mention was $57.65, and they had a lot of food. When it was my turn, she handed me a small bag and said it cost $70.00. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but when my daughter opened the bag to get her food, we found that everything was for just one person—a small box of jasmine rice and a container of butter chicken that we couldn't share. The hostess was quite rude, and I felt like we were overcharged on purpose. We couldn’t eat until we got home, and I ended up paying nearly $100 for poor service. Additionally, there were kids running around the kitchen area, visible to customers, which was unprofessional. While I would consider bringing more people here, I’m hesitant because of this experience. I believe the hostess could benefit from some training on how to be a better host.

The tandoori chicken was incredibly dry and tough to chew. It lacked any spices, just a lot of artificial coloring. The chicken tikka masala had a decent gravy, but the chicken was similarly tough and hard to eat. It felt like they might have used very old chicken for both the tandoori and the tikka masala. Overall, I wasn't satisfied with the food I ordered.

I absolutely adore this restaurant and visit frequently. The smoked eggplant dish is one of my top choices. I also highly recommend the garlic naan—it's scrumptious!
