The Counter Corte Madera Priority Seating

Great place for a burger...so many choices that every one is totally unique and tastes amazing! Great service and a nice bar yummy meal, recommend it!

We enjoy eating at the counter. The food and service are both outstanding!

We have been loyal customers for many years, but on our recent visit we were surprised to find an additional "service fee" of 20% added to our bill. This fee was explained as a way to increase the compensation for the kitchen staff. Although we understand the reasoning behind it, we were taken aback by the fact that the fee was equivalent to the cost of ordering another entree without receiving any extra food. If the restaurant wishes to pay their kitchen staff more, they should simply raise their wages. We found the automatic service charge to be unfair and it has deterred us from returning to this establishment for the time being, especially since other restaurants are not implementing this practice.

I was disappointed with my recent experience at this restaurant. Not only did they add a service charge to the bill, but the total cost of $48.00 for a cheeseburger, fries, chicken salad, and iced tea seemed excessive for this type of establishment. The service was also lacking - I was unable to get a refill on my tea and felt completely ignored. Overall, I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
