Little Bird To Go

We chose Whiskey Bird for an early meal before heading to the Atlanta Botanical Garden for the Sip and Stroll event. A pleasant surprise was that they were offering early bird specials when we arrived. Our waitress was incredibly helpful and recommended the Peruvian Chicken Tacos as a fantastic appetizer. The taco shells were crispy and flavorful, while the chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned. The standout dish, however, was the Blackened Grouper. Initially, I was unsure about the combination of grapes with arugula and tomatoes, but the grapes added a lovely contrast to the spiciness of the grouper. The only dish we didn't enjoy was the dip duo; the queso and salsa, as well as the guacamole, lacked inspiration and had a somewhat store-bought quality.

The portions are generous, and the service is polite and unobtrusive. The restaurant is also a good option for private events and parties, as I noticed one taking place during my visit. However, the layout contributes to a fair amount of noise, making it necessary to raise your voice to have a conversation at the table. The decor is appealing, but while the food is decent, it doesn't stand out as particularly remarkable. Prices might be slightly on the higher side.

This was our second visit to this restaurant, and once again, everything was fantastic. This time, we enjoyed the Crispy Grouper sandwich on a brioche bun, and we started with the Hong Kong fried chicken sliders as an appetizer. For dessert, we indulged in the key lime pie topped with macadamia nuts and coconut, which is the best key lime pie we've ever tasted. It has officially become our new favorite place to eat!

A short ride from downtown this is worth the trip. The food is exceptional with an Asian twist on American dishes. The cocktails are creative and luscious and the wines by the glass or bottle are great and of good value. The eggplant was the best I’ve had anywhere except China. The crispy brussels are out of this world with or without bacon. Prices are very reasonable and the service is perfect.
