Candlelight Diner - Commack

I ordered a medium-rare chopped steak, but it was served well done. I sent it back, and when it returned, it was raw, which was quite off-putting for everyone at the table. I decided to take it home to cook myself. When the manager came to check on the second steak, I informed him it was still raw and that I would be taking it home. He agreed the steak was undercooked and offered to replace it, but by that point, I had completely lost my appetite. While I did take the steak home, I believe the manager should have removed it from the bill. Additionally, the other dishes were disappointing as well; the chicken was overcooked and tasted like it had been reheated. I've dined here a few times before without any issues, so it seems like this was just an off night. I think it will take me some time to feel comfortable returning.

The food was quite enjoyable! I visited with a group of friends, and we had a great time. I’ll definitely be returning!

Such a great place, the owners work there and are so nice. The food is very good and the waitresses are always friendly and helpful. I have been going there for years.

Candlelight Diner hasn?t failed thus far? Breakfast dishes, especially their Challah Toast Blueberry Pancakes have been a go to for those early morning breakfast in the backyard vibes. Wonderful chill spot for family to get together or even a group of friends who want to catchup on each other?s lives over a great meal!?

Great service (none of that cookie cutter fake smile BS). Amazing *real* Long Island diner atmosphere. Food was excellently prepared and I had a great time with my son. My only complaint is the pretzels are supposed to come with spicy mustard and the dish had none. When I asked they brought me French 's yellow. ? More amusing than a negative, really. Also, I am not a fan of coleslaw that has zero horsey sauce.
