Forty Carrots - Chicago

The food is strictly ok and the service is also mediocre. Stopped by while shopping at Bloomingdales. It is a sad little cafe. Doesn't feel warm and there is no natural light at all. Skip it.

I didn't even have a chance to place my order, so my rating is solely based on the service. My cousin is legally blind, and I was reading the menu to her when an African American server with her hair tied back in a small bun approached us and asked if we needed assistance. My cousin explained that she was having the menu read to her and that we weren't ready yet. The server seemed to misinterpret this, so I clarified that I was reading the menu to my cousin because she couldn't see. Before I could finish, the server walked away. I found that to be quite rude, so I decided to leave.

I absolutely love the daily soups, especially on Fridays! The sandwiches are fantastic, and the shakes and fruit smoothies are excellent as well. However, I did find Courtney to be a bit unfriendly.

What has happened to food selections here??? Jimmy Deans breakfast sandwiches...yuck! I used to get chicken salad,grilled chicken breast, and grilled balsamic chicken salad here. These were great! Where is the good stuff?? I won't come back...

I got a Chicken Caesar Salad from Forty Carrots and it said it was packed yesterday. Upon opening it, I would beg to differ. It looked like it was packed two weeks ago. The lettuce was brown and old! The containers inside the salad were held together with tape. I'm not sure if it was the tape or if the salad was washed in Windex, but the entire salad tasted like Windex. I threw it out after a few bites. Very disappointed in this $10 salad.
