Basil Mediterranean Bistro

I had a fantastic dinner at Basil Mediterranean Bistro. I enjoyed a Greek-style salad, followed by the Lamb Kebabs for my entrée, and I finished off with some gelato. The service was exceptional. It’s a charming little spot nestled on the south side of Charlottesville.

This was our first experience dining at Basil, although we opted for takeout due to the Coronavirus. We ordered several dishes and enjoyed them family-style. The hummus, spanakopita, and bruschetta were all fantastic—definitely some of the highlights, and we would order them again without a doubt. However, we found the falafel and stuffed grape leaves to be just average and probably wouldn’t order them again. Aside from the bruschetta, everything came with hummus, pita triangles, and an assortment of olives and small pickles. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and we look forward to ordering from Basil again in the future!

The food is outstanding, and the ambiance, music, and service are excellent as well. The wine selection is delicious, and the best part is that the prices are surprisingly low for such high-quality food. This is by far my favorite place for Mediterranean cuisine in Charlottesville.

We came in for lunch. Amazing Portobello burger, Tel Aviv salad, and tabouli. everything was great. Definitely will go again .

Great Food, Wonderful Beer and good staff. Lots of variety and flavour! Cant wait until the next time I eat there!
