Bidrage med feedbackStill, the patrons do lend the Cypress an atmosphere reminiscent of the Pump Haus's younger sibling or perhaps cousin. It serves as a sort of training ground for future regulars of other downtown bars. The vibe can get rowdy and obnoxious at times, as these young adults perfect their drinking skills before moving on to the more "adult" establishments. It’s not tucked away; once you’ve located it, you’ll easily find it again. Just look for the patio on State Street, where lively conversations abound. I do enjoy the place, as it’s packed with young adults still navigating life, all with a glimmer of optimism in their eyes that suggests they haven't faced any major challenges yet. Of course, there are also plenty of young jokers who think they've got it all figured out, but who still rely on mom to do their laundry. From opening until around 9 or 10 PM, the Cypress is usually quieter—what I like to call the "adult hours." After 10 PM, you’ll likely stumble upon a mix of college or community parties in full swing. Go check it out and have a good time, but remember to be yourself and get home safely.
Mason did a great job—I'm giving him a 5-star review! It's currently 12:29 AM, and he just closed the place down, which is understandable since it was slow. I looked up bars that are open until 2 AM because that’s what I wanted. It was a bit disappointing, but the service, drinks, and atmosphere were all good. Perhaps consider adjusting the hours and closing at midnight on weekdays?
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that the older folks were there to play pool. I thought, “Well, watch me show you how it’s done!”
As far as dive bars go this is by far the cleanest. Great energy and lovely staff.
Very relaxed environment, never too loud or crowded.
