Sor Capanna - CASTEL GANDOLFO

When in Rome again, we made a quick detour on our way to our habitual wine supplier in Frascati. We had been to Castel Gandolfo before so we know what to expect. And in fact the place hasn't changed: simple restaurant, wonderful food, great, friendly service and a meal with a view on the Pope's summer palace. That's about as close as a mortal can get to heaven, for all I'm concerned...

Perfect diner with a nice view of the Albano lake. The pasta's where delicous and the tiramisu an absolute must. Great service and the price quality ratio is insanely good

We ate inside to avoid the bustle outside. We had a charcuterie platter (a nice selection of cold cuts and a bit of cheese). Some olives with it would have been a good addition. Then we had a salad of greens, tuna, corn, and tomatoes (no dressing). Good but not out of ordinary.
