Bidrage med feedbackWe went to this restaurant because our first and second choice weren't open that day. Hungry as we were, we were glad we could dine here at all. The homemade garlic breat that we got for free as an appetier was excellent, so we had high hopes for the main course. We had the espada filet with bananas and the roast beef. The espada with bananas was mediocre, the roastbeef tasted only of the cheap ready-made sauce it came with and was very dry. It seemed like a very bad hospital meal overall. For this very disappointing performance, the prices were too high. The potatoes as a sidedish were the best thing about this main course. Very disappointed. The waitress was very kind and attentive, though.
We've been twice recently and unfortunately the restaurant at lunchtime was almost empty. However the waitress was attentive and helpful. The food was OK and the price acceptable
We eaten here on several occasions, the local food is excellent, the ladies who run it are all family and are a little quiet, but if you take the time to talk to them, they soon warm to you, even though their English is limited and our Portuguese is no existant. The prices are low, the wine is good value, but the room lacks atmosphere and is often cold out of the warmth of summer.
We ate there in Aug 2015 and were seated next to a TV - just 0,5m away. There were just 3 other guests of whom no one watched at the TV. When the waitress (I think she was the owner) didn't noticed us for over 10 minutes I turned the TV off by myself because there was a portugese telenovela playing in which an actress started to cry really loud and didn`t stop for minutes. About 30sec later the waitress/owner suddenly appeared at tour table and started complaining why I turned off the TV... Anyway...I had a soup and fish, which was quite ok (but not more) - but the vegetables were from the fridge. Worst restaurant in Madeira (on a 14 days stay).
We ate here twice during our stay in Madeira. Although the restaurant was quiet due to being in the winter season, we though the food was really good and ended up coming back for a second time. We had lamb stew, veal, suckling pig, garlic bread, which were all excellent, and the delicious Acorda soup. Very reasonably priced. And very friendly owner served us.
