Top Shelf - Carson

We often visit Top Shelf Tacos whenever we're in the mood for tacos. While there are plenty of taco joints in the area, we always find ourselves returning to this one. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming! If it's your first time here, they'll gladly take the time to explain the menu items if you need help deciding. There’s also a self-serve condiment station featuring salsas, onions, cilantro, and radishes, so you can customize your tacos just the way you like! We typically order our food to go, but there’s plenty of space to dine in and enjoy your meal. The atmosphere is really nice!

We stopped in for a quick bite before a Galaxy soccer game. We ordered three tacos: al pastor, asada, and carnitas. Personally, I wasn't a fan, but R enjoyed them. Perhaps my taste buds were just off today. We also tried the loaded nachos, which were quite delicious. The nachos had everything you could want on them, and just the right amount of each topping. I would definitely return for the nachos and a beer.

I’ve been on the hunt for the best Taco Tuesday deal in the South Bay for three years, and I’ve finally discovered it! I can’t believe this hidden gem has been in Carson all this time. They offer $1.50 tacos (including Al Pastor, chicken, veggie, carnitas, tripe, and possibly cabeza) and $3 beers (Modelo, Modelo Negra, Tecate, Dos Equis, IPAs, Corona). The tacos are massive for the price; you can easily split one into two regular-sized street tacos. Tripe and cabeza tend to sell out by the afternoon, so I recommend arriving early if you want to sample everything! All the salsas have a nice kick, even the mild one, and the creamy green sauce is a must-try. I plan to be here every Tuesday for the rest of my life, so let me know if anyone wants to join!

I'm from San Diego and we have some Amazon's Mexican food. I am always searching for a yummy cheese quesadilla to fulfill my craving. This place has the best one I've had so far! Thanks for saving me the 2 hour trip!

The food? Amazing. I could chow down on anything from here daily and never get sick of it. The service? Awesome. They're cool and they have great suggestions and clearly know their menu. In the seating area is a little stale in the vibes area but if you're just interacting with the staff then it's very friendly and overall a great ambiance. Amazing, 10/10, regular eating spot.
