Weeping Thaiger - Carlow

We really like this restaurant food is great, we’re regular customers for take away, however it’s gone very expensive. We wanted a take away last night as we often do but the price of €47.40 for 2 mains and 1 starter turned us off. It’s just too expensive for take away. Disappointing as we love the food here but can’t justify paying that.

From start to finished Lek and staff went above and beyond for us they opened earlier to accommodate us (amazing) so helpful looked after our every need . The food was amazing tasty fresh and hot we had a wide variety from the menu combination platters for starters so tasty we had sweet n sour chicken , thai green curry , hoisin Duck chicken and king prawn special fried rice, noodles mixed vegetables and it was beautiful every bite . We ate so much couldn't fit in dessert. We ll definitely be back when in Carlow again. Enjoyed by all . Thanks to everyone at weeping thaiger beautiful

Has really gone downhill, used to be a lovely place. Ordered Pad Thai recently and it was just a big gelatinous lump that came out of the box. Could make better at home now.

Although the food here is ok we found the atmosphere in the restaurant very dull and the staff were very rude. Will not be returning.

My wife and have been going there for years, it was always our go to treat in Carlow. I even used to do a 40 detour on a Friday to grab weeping thaiger as a Friday night treat. We loved the food, the staff and everything about the place. Then the new owners took over and got off to a wobbly start (waiting outside in the rain for an hour etc) . We got a few dodgy takeaways so made the decision not to go for a while. Until today. The only people in what used to be a busy spot. The phone was no longer ringing all the time and the delivery driver was nowhere to be seen. Starter was fine, staff was nice and helpful. Mains came. Wife's was different but ok. I had ordered 3 starters as mains. The spring rolls were laced with pepper so couldn't eat them. The rest was fine but not to its usual standard.we explained to the server about the spring rolls and she apologised for them. When the bill arrived we were being charged a euro extra for each starter than was on the menu as well as for the dish that was inedible. We queried this with the serving staff and she said that she had brought this to the attention of the owner and they didn't seem in a rush to change the prices. We argued the point that it was false advertising to knowingly display wrong prices. We got the money back from that but not from the inedible food. I feel really sorry for the server as she was very pleasant to deal with, I'm sure she gets loads of hassle from customers caught with the same problem. We won't be back any time soon. Truly gutted.
