Skitby House - Carlisle

We attended a wonderful renunciation ceremony at this beautiful venue, which also has the versatility to host other events like weddings. Although it's not the largest space, this adds to its charm, especially for those seeking an intimate setting for a special occasion. The décor is lovely, featuring exposed beams and stone floors, while still maintaining a modern feel that keeps it from looking dated. The staff were polite, courteous, efficient, and well-prepared. The only downside was the parking situation; it wasn't very spacious. However, considering the size of the venue, it was adequate, though some guests might need to find parking elsewhere. Overall, a delightful experience!

After exploring numerous high-end venues and hearing wonderful things about Skitby, we decided to take a look. The lovely Katherine promptly responded and helped us secure our booking. Our visit for a meal ultimately confirmed our decision. Katherine was fantastic from start to finish—she assisted us with decor ideas, menu selections, and worked closely with us to ensure everything was perfect for the big day. She was always available to answer our questions, especially with all the queries from a nervous bride on the morning of the event, guiding us smoothly through the process. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything went off without a hitch on the big day. The entire team was friendly and helpful. Skitby is an absolutely stunning venue both inside and out, with its versatile spaces for an intimate ceremony, a relaxed wedding breakfast, a spacious dance area, and various rooms for mingling. The food was exceptional—canapés, the wedding breakfast, the buffet, and all the meals we had leading up to the event were consistently outstanding. We cherished every moment of our experience with Skitby and can’t recommend it highly enough!

Had a high-time reception there recently, beautiful place, great eating, very good service and cheap bar. would definitely consider it for future parties.
