Sushi Shiono - CAPTAIN COOK

Casual dining however it took us a while to find it because they recently closed one location and now the open one is near the Kono Brewery. That said the hunt was worth it. The volcano roll is amazing and we actually ordered one to go for the airplane ride home! Loved the shrimp tempera and the chicken katsu. The waitress said some people like the mai tias and some don't but we did! It is casual dining and we chose outdoors and the service is great.

Sad news. Thursday, 8/31/23 was closing night for this great restaurant. It will be missed in Kona.

Great sushi right next to the waterfront! Good prices and very fresh fish, not to mention their desserts. The sushi chef was very professional and fast, definitely will be back

Sherry was our waitress and was amazing. Great attitude, prompt and helpful with suggestions. We tried several things but the Shiono boat was worth the trip. Everything was outstanding.
