In Ankara, the Dagestan-origin family-run restaurant "Nefis Çerkes Hıngal Evi" excels in Circassian cuisine. It's a highly successful establishment, and I appreciate the wonderful work you do, Ms. Nefise!
The minced meat and potato hıngal is legendary, and the stuffed meatballs are also very delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it! Next time, we will definitely try the fıccın.
As a Circassian, I have to say the mantı (Turkish dumplings) is amazing. Topped with butter, it's just like home-cooked dumplings. The minced meat mantı is my favorite. The boiled içli köfte (stuffed meatballs) is unique, and I recommend trying it if you're not familiar with it. However, the only downside is that they have to keep the meatballs in the freezer, which unfortunately affects their flavor. Otherwise, you'd have to wait a long time. That's why I didn't enjoy it as much. The fıccın (a type of pastry) is good and worth trying, but the price is a bit high for the portion size. For instance, paying 27 TL for just two slices of börek doesn't seem reasonable. In summary, I definitely recommend the mantı. Also, dining in old Ankara houses will surely impress your guests. The owners are wonderful people—it's a family-run business started by a Dagestani immigrant family.
