River View At The Point - Cambridge

I really enjoyed the authentic Eastern Shore crabcake. The sweet tea and sweet potato fries that came with it made for a fantastic lunch while we were driving to the beach.

Additionally, the staff refused to let us sit at a specific table that we had reserved over the phone, even though it was clearly marked with four place settings. Our group only had four people, but they insisted the booth was only for five. The booth itself wasn’t even that big; it could comfortably seat five at most. I’ve attached a picture to illustrate this. I can't understand why we weren’t allowed to sit there, especially after making a reservation and being told it was acceptable. That booth sat empty for the more than two hours we spent waiting for our bland food while we chatted over drinks. This experience completely ruined my night out with my family. I would’ve had better food and service at the Denny's down the road. Honestly, for the price we paid, it was appalling. We should have just left when we were told we couldn’t use our reserved table. It goes without saying that we won’t be returning. If you're looking for a nice meal, I recommend Portside, just down the road. It offers better views and superior food.

I had some concerns when we first entered because the ambiance was different from what I had anticipated. It felt more like a simple diner, which wasn’t quite what we had in mind. However, I was happily surprised by the food, which was expertly prepared and well-seasoned. We started with the crab pretzel as an appetizer, and I ordered the River View BLT, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. My husband, who tends to be selective about burgers, also liked his and specifically praised the quality of the meat.

Passing through and stopped here for lunch. We ordered the crab pretzel (so good! , sangria, crab cakes with potato and macaroni salad, shrimp basket and a slice of lemon cake. Everything was delicious! The crab pretzel was my favorite and the crab cakes were also very good. I was torn when it came to dessert but not disappointed! The cakes and pies are baked fresh in house. The lemon cake is super moist, refreshing, and lemony. Perfect for summer.

Don?t know if Father?s Day was not a good day to dine at River View at the Point but the experience was less than good. Wait staff was personable and was timely in taking our orders. Several ordered baked potatoes as a side and was informed approximately 15-20 minutes after placing the order that they were out of baked potatoes. Our party waited over an hour for our meals and the food was barely warm. One person requested a bread loaf for the crab dip and was brought two biscuits. One party requested crab imperial for their flounder and didn?t get it until the meal was over. Hopefully, today was just one of those days
