Ho Won Chinese Food - Calgary

If you’re looking for the best salt and pepper squid in Calgary, Ho Won should be on your must-visit list. Since we moved away, we’ve really missed the large Chinese dishes in Calgary, so we always make it a point to stop by whenever we return. The squid is an absolute must; I usually order enough for two dishes because you won’t want to share! The ginger beef is crispy and sweet, although it could use a bit more heat. The almond chicken is both crispy and delicate, with the almonds adding another layer of flavor. It could have a slightly stronger almond taste, but it’s still pretty good. However, the true star of every meal at Ho Won is definitely the salt and pepper squid. Parking can be a bit tricky during dinner hours, but if the weather is nice, you can usually find plenty of spots in the Eau Claire Market a few blocks away.

Best pepper restaurant in Calgary, AB! We’ve been coming here for over 15 years. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices remain very reasonable. We often choose this place for family gatherings and work events. Give it a try—you won’t be disappointed. Delicious!
