After browsing the lights collection at a nearby showroom, the fiancé and I though it would be a good idea to seek out a local coffee spot to sit and relax. A short distance away, we found Caffe Divano. The place had a warm and welcoming atmosphere and colour scheme. It appeared that most patrons took their orders to-go, so we had no trouble finding tables and chairs. I ordered the standard piping hot drip coffee (that ended up burning my tongue, oops). The fiancé asked if there was iced coffee on the menu. There was not, but the barista offered to put ice cubes into the drip coffee if he wanted to try (which he did). The place was clean, quiet and we sat there until we were politely advised the café was approaching their closing time. Overall, I had a good experience during my short stay there. I appreciated the generous seating spots available, the (extra) hot drip coffee, the attempt to try and make something that wasn't readily available on the menu, and courteous staff. Worth the visit!
Really nice looking coffee shop. Right now I am on the search for the best coffee place around Burnaby. I wanted to try out their drip coffee black. Ordered 2 but they only had enough for 1 cup. The other cup they offered my an Americano. Guess they couldn't make another drip coffee pot?? Got 2 steamers for the kids and a Mac and Cheese pot pie. The drip coffee was very sour. This was under extracted and because it was sour really could not finish it. The Americano was so bitter I guess that is why you hit it was sugar and cream. I think they need to work on their pull method. Either the grind is off or the tamper pressure is not right. The steamers the kids enjoyed but they are pretty easily satisfied. The Mac and Cheese pot pie was not good. There was not much pasta in it and there was a lack of cheese. It wasn't even cheesy at all. Not sure I would label it Mac and cheese pot pie.
Great place, lots of space, the chai tea latte is nice, and oh their baked goods. Their muffins are really good. I tried the pumpkin one. Filling, a bit crispy on the outside, the top is crunchy. Wonderful flavor. Highly recommend. Staff is very nice.
I came here to buy a London Fog, on a whim, just because it had been so cold and windy out. I just wanted to drink something warm on my way home. As I walked in, I saw Gabi and Jules pie! They sell G&J pie and other items! Woohoo! This means that I don't always have to go all the way to Port Moody to buy their pies. Then, I saw a whole bunch of brunch items and fresh pastries. I didn't realize that the cafe and G&J had the same owner, haha! They had a pretty large selection of food that can go with my tea, but I didn't have time to stay long, so I came back the next day to order tea and a veggie sandwich. The staff toasted it for me and I have sat down and ate it. Boy, I can tell you, it's like eating a whole lunch. It was more filling that I thought it would be! Friendly coffee shop. Reasonably priced. Vegan options available. Great tea and customer service. I will come back again!
