Bidrage med feedbackAlthough the food was good, I consistently encounter issues with takeout orders from Sodalaks. We ordered a sirloin steak dinner, a fried chicken dinner, and a chicken-fried steak dinner, along with two baked potatoes, two salads, and a container of extra gravy. This doesn’t seem like it should be a complicated order. When we got home, we discovered two cold, hard potatoes without any toppings—no butter, cheese, or sour cream—despite being asked if we wanted bacon bits. The extra gravy was meant for a family member who has difficulty swallowing, as it's used to soften the meat in a food processor. Unfortunately, the gravy was left out as well. Ordering takeout never seems to match the quality of dining in. It was too far to drive back, so I called and spoke with Amber, who informed me that while they were sorry for the oversight, it was my responsibility to check the bags before leaving and report any missing items. It’s interesting because I thought it was their responsibility to ensure that the correct items were packed. This experience reflects very poor customer service.
The food is delicious and the portions are huge—you definitely won't leave hungry. However, the service can be hit or miss. We've experienced fantastic service at times, but there have also been occasions where we were seated and it took ages for our server to acknowledge us, to the point where we almost considered leaving. I believe the problem isn't the servers' willingness to help, but rather that they are overwhelmed. Typically, there are only two or sometimes three servers for the entire restaurant, even when it's packed. Aside from that, it's our favorite restaurant. It's definitely worth both the money and the wait.
The service leaves much to be desired. The waitstaff is extremely slow, and it's often difficult to find our server. However, the food is fantastic! I'm especially fond of the fried crawfish tails, and I was disappointed when they stopped offering them at their University location, but the drive is definitely worth it. The steaks are enormous and surprisingly affordable for their size; my husband and I typically share one.
Sodolak's in Bryan is a true gem for anyone seeking a delicious meal at a great price. As soon as you enter, you'll notice the friendly and attentive service that makes you feel right at home. The food is exceptional, with generous portions and wonderful flavors. Whether you're craving a hearty steak or delectable sides, everything is cooked to perfection. The value for the price is remarkable—you really get a lot for what you pay. Overall, Sodolak's offers a fantastic combination of excellent service, delicious food, and outstanding value. If you're in College Station and looking for a dependable place for a satisfying meal, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
We dined at Sodolak's last night for the first time in a while, and I was craving Chicken Fried Steak. Both of us ordered the CFS along with two sides, rolls, and iced tea. The total came to $33.00 before tip, which is quite affordable these days. The cut of meat for the CFS seemed a bit thinner than I remembered, but there was more than enough food, and it tasted great!
