Bidrage med feedbackEven a small town in the middle of nowhere deserves a community gathering spot and Burr Trail Outpost admirably serves that role for Boulder. This friendly, casual spot is where we stopped for fresh-baked treats and coffee for breakfast and hefty sandwiches for lunch on our exploration of this rewarding area. Unexpected, however, was the fine collection of work for sale by local artists and artisans, everything from prints of the area, greeting cards, even jewelry. I was so taken with this unexpected little spot that I picked up a reasonably priced baseball cap that said Burr Trail Outpost and had a nice canyon country design. I sure wouldn't have worn a cap advertising a place that I didn't like and I wore this one for the rest of our 3,500-mile road trip to the five Utah National Parks from Seattle. Lastly, definitely make sure to explore the historic Burr Trail Road which provided a day's worth of prime Utah scenery yet was sparsely traveled with few visitors.
We stopped for a mid morning breakfast on our drive from Torrey to Bryce. It's a bit like a coffee /bakery shop you would find in a big city but with much more personality and creative food options. You order at the counter and sit inside or outside. There were numerous fresh bakery items, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, yogurt options, some casserole type choices, various teas, coffee etc. The menu was eclectic and fresh. I had a slice of veggie quiche with mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese, and basil. It was made with a nice light crust and excellent. The proprietor and her son were taking the orders and preparing. It was a pretty smooth operation. There were some very nice crafts made by local artists that were for sale in the shop. I was pretty impressed with this little place.
Great spot to watch hummingbirds and have a cup of coffee asks a breakfast sandwich. Friendly group here. Also, lots of local artists have their art for sale here.
This was an unplanned stop, but glad we made it. The food was delicious. The staff were attentive. The pie at the end was the closing treat. A definite recommendation to others to stop there if in the area exploring Boulder, UT. We are glad we stopped here to eat.
The sandwiches at this restaurant are large and filled with generous amounts of fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly and the decor is beautiful with artwork throughout. Whenever I am in Boulder, this is always my go-to stop!
