Bidrage med feedbackI really want to love this place because I love BBQ and it's so close to my home. I will definitely give them another attempt, but my first experience was not great. I ordered the two meat plate and during the brisket was good (it is very dry, but I would like to add my own sauce, so no complaints about it) the pulled chicken was not good. Almost every single bite had a bone in it or some strange Gristle bits. I literally pulled bones out of my mouth. My pages weren't great either. The chicken plier dish was also expensive for chicken you basically get in any other generic restaurant for much cheaper. All in all, it was okay.
My husband and I were in the area so decided to give them an attempt. We ordered three different meats together with two sides and additional ribs. The BBQ is served on the page that is beautiful if you do not want sauce or prefer your own. Our meal came with a piece of corn bread. All meats were incredibly dried out, which was incredibly disappointing. We have the Briske, the pig and the ribs. The Mac and cheese was good, but the baked beans I couldn't eat because they were full of onions I can't eat. The pages were also very small considering that we got 3 orders from meat. By the fact that all meats were dried out, the sides were small, the beans contained onions, and the grain bread was also dried. Everything was also expensive given the quality we receive.
Sweet smoke snack, amazing friendly and polite staff, a little on the expensive side and the food was not so great. I have 2 meats and 2 pages. The brisket was over dry and no taste other than the smoke. Ribs were very moist, fall from the bone, but no taste other than the natural smoke taste when smoking meat. When I go to a BBQ place, I want BBQ and not a Bland piece of meat with absolutely nothing in it. Yes, there was BBQ sauce on the side, but I want it cooked on the ribs along with other spices. The Mac and the cheese were also muddy and very bland. Grain bread was so dry and tasted a few days old. Hush puppies were so over boiled, they could not eat them (rock hard and only about black in color). I have seen and was in real southern smoked BBQ places and I'm sorry to say you should be ashamed to say it is southern BBQ. The South would be very disappointed. Maybe you should give customers options if they want to smoke their food dry or with BBQ sauce, but please season the meat. The spices of your foods are very important beside it juicy and delicate. Maybe you can see some of the Texas BBQ cookers to get some ideas?!
This place is good, staff is friendly, servings are American size. I think they own their own pigs as there is a stinking building, a quarter mile downwind, and you can see the smoker outside the smoke Shake from the street. A large ice cone is gigantic and needs a cup to carry the upper half at home. There is a weakness that the food tastes. The complete shelf fell from the bone, but did not seem to be cooked with a strong taste. The sauce was a bit casual, but works well on the Cajun Pommes. There are spicy options on the menu, but my order seemed a bit like BBQ for people who don't like BBQ. I'm glad to have something relatively local, but I can't give it five stars. It has potential to improve. Give your BBQ a personality!
The main challenge here is deciding what to order, as the menu is extensive. Everyone enjoyed their choices. The variety of sauces is impressive, too. Plus, there’s an ice cream stand outside for anyone with a little extra room for dessert. This place is a fantastic discovery!
