Bodalla Bakery - BODALLA

If you are looking for a delicious meal or morning/afternoon tea you can't go past the Bodalla Bakery. Freshly made cakes, slices and breads plus savoury and sweet pies. They can also make and decorate a special occasion cake for you. Once a month they have a High Tea which is fabulous.

I'm a big fan of this gorgeous little family owned and run bakery in Bodalla. They seriously make the best pies, my favourite is the Mexican, oh la la, its fab. My sweet tooth loves a brandy snap or the famous caramel slice, but their signature cupcakes are seriously to die for. Welcoming smiles and chat from Sharan, David and all their staff. Great place to indulge the tastebuds and they have another storefront at Narooma Plaza.

This place could learn from so many of the other baked goods shops around the place. Staff seemed to be having an off day. Certainly the range of baked goods was limited (during a School Holiday period). One of the two pies that we settled on was less than hot, even though it came out of the pie warmer. Disappointing end to an almost dysfunctional retail space that seems to be confused as to where it wants its customers to come and purchase the small amount of stuff that they are lucky enough to find for sale. Revisit, when we can be sure that performance and choice have improved and can be guaranteed.

Nothing special about it. Not bad, but not exceptional.Just average. A European flavour would really enhance the place.
