Jim 'n Nick 's -b-q - Bluffton

If I could give zero stars I would. We were immediately sat, and the server took 10 minutes to come to the table to take the our drink order. After waiting another 20 minutes the server came back to take our drink order again because they forgot we had order drinks already, we had not received the drinks. Other customers who came in after us received their food drinks before the server had even returned. Talked to the manager and all they could say was I'm sorry, but really didn't care.

The wife and I stopped in because we wanted BBQ, I recommended a mom pop place, my wife said she didn't want to waste the time to find one. So we stopped here. Well here it is. I'm sure at sometime in the past Jim Nicks were on top of their game. I'm a senior citizen and over my lifetime I have witnessed many places grow and not make it because they change what is important. My wife had the brisket chili, her 1st words were it tastes like a can. I had the combo plate, pulled pork, pulled NC pork brisket with Mac and cheese potato salad. The first thing I saw was quantity for the price. At a mom pop for $25 I would have more than enough. Nothing on my plate wowed me. The pork was good the brisket was 1 step away from being jerky, the potato salad was just eehh, it needed pepper and there wasn't any on any of the tables. Mac cheese was ok. My biggest gripe is the put sauce on the meat. I am a firm believer if the BBQ is good you don't need sauce. Let me choose! I didn't care for there sauces, but I can see how others would. The things that were great about this place were 1. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. 2. No wait time. Maybe this was a sign we should have skipped this place) 3. Over 3/4 of the restaurant was empty. See number 2) I guess the quest for the perfect BBQ continues. Jim Nick, go back to the basics, go back to why you were able to grow. Listen to your customers Parking: Not Jim Nicks fault but parking lots on HHI are governed by the city. They are confusing and dangerous when trying to exit on a main road to the left. Wheelchair accessibility: Nice ramps, no automatic doors

First trip was the best, especially our server! Second visit, service seriously tanked. Food was still very good though.

We are regulars here and my wife and I recently had a new born baby, so we resorted to placing an order through DoorDash. The order wasn’t exactly right so I reached out internally to the restaurant through an online form. Within minutes, we got a callback from the general manager, John I believe his name was. He apologized and went above and beyond to make it right. This is why we are Jim N Nick people. Way to go JNN Team! Can’t wait to continue to eat here and support them.

Consistently good Southern barbeque. All the meats are great. Partial to the loaded potato myself.
