Cranker's Coney Island - Big Rapids

I’m really sorry to say that Cranker’s has significantly declined since our last visit. The service was slow, despite the restaurant being almost empty. I believe our waitress did her best given the situation. I ordered the chopped steak meal, but it was nearly inedible. The meat was overcooked, dry, and excessively salty—it felt like a thin hamburger drowned in a heavy sauce. The carrots tasted like they came from a dry boxed mix, and the vegetables were also overcooked and very salty. Although the restaurant claims to serve fresh food, there was nothing fresh about my meal. I'm truly disappointed, as this was a local spot we used to enjoy, but I can’t see myself returning for food that’s worse than a frozen TV dinner.

The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a dry box mix, and the vegetables were overcooked and similarly salty. Despite their claims of serving fresh food, there was nothing fresh about my meal. I’m really disappointed because this used to be a local spot we enjoyed, but I won’t be returning for food that is worse than a frozen TV dinner.
