Bidrage med feedbackI drove all the way from Irvington, Alabama, to eat here today, and the brown sugar pork tenderloin is likely the best I've ever had. I've experienced this wonderful dish twice, three months apart. I highly, highly recommend this place!
The food is fantastic, with a charming country vibe and open seating. While it is somewhat expensive, it's not too unreasonable.
By 2 PM, they had run out of most of the entrees. The waitress was very pleasant, but the food was not properly plated—missing the pimento cheese from the pimento cheese BLT and the chicken from the salad. My husband and daughter ordered the chicken and dumplings, and they said it was awful. They also tried the onion rings, but there were only five in the order. One plate of onion rings was cooked perfectly—crispy and not overly floured. However, the second order had way too much flour, which made them mushy. I was really hoping for a shrimp po' boy, but I was surprised to find that there was no seafood on the menu. What kind of restaurant so close to the coast doesn't serve seafood?
The food was delicious, featuring unique flavors in the collard green casserole. The service was great, and the bread pudding was truly outstanding.
The food here may not be extraordinary, but it's the ideal small-town restaurant in lower Alabama. When we arrived, our table was the only one not called by name, yet that didn’t hinder us from enjoying fantastic service. The burgers were delicious, and my wife really liked her salad.
