My experience at the restaurant while staying at the luxurious Gainsborough Bath hotel and spa was disappointing. The hotel and rooms were beautiful, but the restaurant did not live up to expectations. I ordered the pan-seared halibut with shrimp and grilled tenderstem (similar to broccolini), followed by a cheese course and tea. My wife had the halibut with a gem lettuce salad and chocolate mousse. The bread basket was unimpressive, with only four slices of brown bread and whipped chive butter. The halibut dish was ruined by overpowering shrimp, and the cheese plate lacked flavor and variety. Despite politely expressing our dissatisfaction to the waiter, no improvements were made. Hopefully, the restaurant can enhance their offerings and service to match the quality of the location. Until then, I would not recommend dining here.

This wonderful hotel is located in the heart of a stunning city. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the breakfast is delicious. The complimentary use of the spa was a great bonus.

From the moment we arrived....Concierge took care of our bags and Disha our Receptionist was superb! Made us feel very welcome indeed! The room was comfortable and beautiful and a nice quiet one at that, which is what we requested. The complimentary anniversary gift and card was much appreciated too! Breakfast was first class as was the service! Impromptu Evening Dinner was fabulous too, again with matching service! Bar staff were a delight and engaging. The Spa is to die for, so very relaxing... All staff from House keeping throughout excelled themselves! We would happily return in the future.

The staff at this restaurant was outstanding. The breakfast was exceptional and the spa waters helped us relax each night. I highly recommend this central location.

Not 5 star. Our Gainsborough suite was ok but the bedroom area was a bit pokey and dark. It was advertised with panoramic views but we were in the loft so the view was blocked by masonry and bird deterrent spikes. When my husband complained the guy on the desk wasn’t very helpful and commented that he couldn’t change the masonry, which was quite rude but we were given a discount on the room at the end of the stay due to the incorrect advertising. The headboard had grease stains from someone’s head and after finally figuring out the dressing table, I opened it to find muck and hairs inside. Breakfast was ok but they got our drinks order wrong when there were only 3 tables to serve and I didn’t like the fried hash browns. The spa was pleasant enough and location was excellent but it could be better and we probably wouldn’t return.
