Whitehorn Bistro - Banff

I really wish there was a way to give them zero stars. The wait time was excessively long, the service was terrible, and there weren't any vegetarian options available. Since we had the gondola and lunch included, we had no choice but to eat here. How can a restaurant operate without offering at least one vegetarian dish? The only thing they have going for them is the view, but I certainly won’t be returning.

I had lunch at Whitehorn Bistro on September 17, 2022. The view was spectacular, but unfortunately, the outdoor terrace seating I requested was closed. The service was decent overall. We were hoping to try the Beef Bison carpaccio, but it wasn’t available, so we ordered the seafood bouillabaisse and the Beef Bison burger instead, along with a carafe of wine. The total came to CAD 82, including a 10% gratuity. The bouillabaisse was quite good, featuring two prawns, two scallops, and some bread with four shells, although it didn’t quite match the traditional bouillabaisse I expected. Despite this, it was a pleasant lunch with an excellent atmosphere. Fortunately, the weather was the best it had been during our three-day visit—clear skies. If you take the gondola up, you definitely have to stop by Whitehorn Bistro!

Food was good, but her service wasn't the best. They gave us false information to order food from their restaurant. We were told that the food was not served in the other restaurants below, as there was a lack of kitchen staff. We believed them and ate them at lunch in Whitehorn Bistro when we thought we were not eating everywhere. But after reaching the ground level, we found that the kitchens below work normally and there was never a lack of kitchen staff! Was so disappointed! There was no reason to lie to us.

The pan roasted pork tenderloin was fantastic! So tender and the vegetables were very tasty. The views on the way to the restaurant from the gondola round out the whole experience nicely.

We had a wonderful lunch! Although the terrace was closed, we still enjoyed our meal indoors. The food options were beautiful, and the staff made every effort to accommodate our preferences. The service was excellent and very friendly! It was a lovely break!
