Commuter Comforts - Bainbridge Island

Wow! Their new location inside the terminal building is fantastic. They have a full bar, along with coffee and a variety of breakfast and lunch options. I was really hungry and decided to try their made-to-order steak sandwich. While the steak was probably a bit more cooked than I prefer, it was surprisingly tender for a takeout sandwich. Overall, I’d give it a perfect 10/10 for the staff and the new lunch menu!

I adore this restaurant so much that I frequent it as a local, without needing to take a ferry. The new interior is stunning, and I’m really happy for them. However, today I ordered my all-time favorite breakfast sandwich, the Deb's. When I got it home, I found myself wishing I had just gone to Starbucks or even McDonald's instead. It seems that the changes made for the commuter crowd have affected the quality of this sandwich. I usually save takeout breakfast sandwiches for a special treat on Sunday mornings. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon, which is really disappointing. On a positive note, the service was fantastic as always.

I would give the service five stars. I've been a regular customer for the past couple of years, and I've always enjoyed both the coffee and the bakery items. However, today I was disappointed with both. It seems they have changed their bakery vendor, and the difference was noticeable. I'm not certain if they also switched coffee vendors, but I did hear some other customers mentioning that the coffee was lacking. I really hope they can rectify this situation, especially since there are no other options at the ferry terminal. I ended up going back to the small kiosk by the ferry. They still have the same staff and coffee there, but I'm not sure why the coffee from inside tasted different. My only complaint now is that I miss the pastries they used to sell.

Wow! As a tourist preparing to travel back overseas, I truly appreciated the early morning hours that perfectly coincide with the first ferry at 4:45 AM. The coffee is amazing—I just had to share my experience! Food rating: 5/5.

The staff at this restaurant is fantastic! They really make you feel at home, almost like a welcoming committee for Bainbridge. Although there aren't many vegan pastry options, I’m not familiar with the local preferences, so that might be why. I tried a delicious gluten-free oatmeal dish served with warm soy milk, and it was absolutely perfect! The fresh, hot coffee and various non-coffee latte options made it an ideal place to visit.
